The Forrester, Surry Hills

Pulled Pork. A sudden crave for a melt-in-the-mouth pulled pork .. Looked up online and found this pub/bar in Surry hills that served a giant feast consisting of pulled pork and all the sides. Went on a Saturday but apparently it was so full and one of my friends didn't bring his ID.. T.T Too bad!

So came back on Sunday evening to dine here :) It was I guess my second time dining in pub/bar... I hardly go to bars/pub unless they serve appetizing food such as The Dip Good God :) So I went with bebski, my siblings and Mr.PT...

Walked in, no one greeted us. Everyone was busy doing their thing. I can only see a bartender, some customers chatting and having beers on their hands. We make our way into the restaurant and seated ourselves in one of the big table at the back of the restaurant. Across us was a family having dinner with their kids.. SO this is a family place too, I thought :) Got a bit confused on how to order too, literally no wait staff at all T.T

Looked at the menu and we got these...
Order the snack / entree : Popcorn Chicken Ssam with Avocado and Salso rojo. Good thing that they used chicken breast embedded with green chilli (not spicy) and topped with korean gochujang and toasted sesame and black sesame seeds. Nothing so special about this dish. Apprently for $14 and u got only 5 pieces of small chicken :(  Good thing there were 5 of us hat night..
Popcorn Chicken Ssam - $14
Salad with Crispy pork is always will be ordered! The salad comes with prawns, crispy pork, Cabbage slaw, tomato, jalapeno and lime. To my disappointment, the crispy pork is not crispy and they haven't seasoned it well :(
Santa Fe Salad $18
We decided to try the pizza too . Got the pizza with pulled pork, salami, bacon corn and bbq sauce :) The bread was nice but I can't taste anything else as the BBQ sauce was to much on the pizza :( Shud've try other pizza....
Frisky Hilbilly $24
The Dish That we've been waiting forrr!! Pulled pork with bread rolls, chips and cabbage corn slaw. Warning: if you think of sharing among 2 people and order other dishes, Dont! This dish can feed 5 of us with all other sides that we ordered. They cooked the pulled pork quite good, it fell of the bone and was nicely grilled.. It is a good combo to eat with the rolls and slaw :) This Dish is really the winner! I only recommend this dish :)
The Pit $35
Overall, good experienced despite the poor service. I personally can't eat comfortably as some table besides us was smoking... Not sure if they are allowed to smoke inside though?
Will definitely come back to try out the burgers!!

Anyone been here before? What are your thoughts?

Killa Burger, Burwood

I was watching Man Vs Food in Travel & Living channel and Adam Richmond was having his huge burger challenge. Bebski asked me if there is such challenge in Sydney and so I googled: "Huge Burger in Sydney" and killa burger popped up! I looked through the menu online and was really excited to go and try the burger :)

So I gathered some of my friends to have dinner there. They have several locations but the closest to my place is the one in Burwood.. The restaurant from outside looked like an American Diner and they have plenty of parking too :) When we arrived, there wasn't much people eating despite it was a friday night. I asked bebski if he wanted to do the challenge.. Killa Kage - where you have to eat the killa burger, killa chips, killa drink and killa soft serve alone in 60minutes for $35 to put your name in the wall of fame ;P But bebski said he's not in the mood to eat that much :P

Sp this is what i got..

Let's break it down :)
First is the Booty Burger which filled with beef, coleslaw, ketchup, mustard and chips. The beef patty was juicy and the bun was soft :) It was really delisious,, Got the combo with the chips and a drink too ^^
Booty Meal $9
Then I also tried the chicken crunch.. Ive always loved chicken wings!! Be it deep fried or grilled and I must say this one is the winner menu of the night :) Crunchy and crispy!^^ Not too oily in addition :)
Chicken crunch 6 pieces for $5.98
The ribs was okay I guess.. Im not really a fan of it but its good to taste a little bit of everything as I have travelled that far to Burwood :)
Regular Ribs $12.98
For dessert, the only thin that caught my eyes was the  Killa Bomb! Basically, it is a deep fried ice cream and you can choose you toppings either chocolate, caramel or strawberry. But I got the most basic ones, chocolate :) It was goooooodddd ^^
Killa Bomb $4.98
Overall, It was a great experienced and good knowledge to know that we have that humongous burger in Sydney too. I would like to come back soomeday to have the chicken crunch and try other burgers :)
Sometimes its hard to find a place that no one ever tried before unless it was categorized as Top10 or top25 sydney eats. So with some inspiration from Tv Channel and help from Mr.Google. Im glad that I could manage to find a new place :)

Kellys Bar & Grill

I always go to Hurricane almost every time we are craving for a sumptuous meal of pork ribs. Mr.EN told me that he prefer Kellys over Hurricane... I never believed him and so I went wid Bebski for our Monthniversary..
We arrived that it was still quite empty.. and we looked at the menu and decided that we have to try both the ribs and the steak..
For starter, they gave us warm homebake bread which was really soft and fluffy complemented by the creamy butter.. can't get enough of this bread but remembering that we still have a feast coming so we held ourselves :p
Complimentary Bread
Then our main came...
Bebski got the 500g rump steak and it comes with chips (by his choice) and deep fried onion rings :) The steak was cooked to what we asked for and it has that grilled flavour notes that ure looking for in a good steak! I must admit it was better than hurricane :)

My main came.. I ordered the combo steak and Ribs.. Pardon me, I dont eat everything.. we share the ribs as we just want to judge if it is really better than hurricane :)

The Verdict? Mehh... Hurricane is still the one serving the best pork ribs for me! The steak though is better in Kellys! :) Overall dining experience... It was a lovely dinner, great service and good food.. Just order the steak as my recommendation :)
