Nick's Seafood, Darling Harbour

It is not often when I can feast on such a meal - Fresh Seafood. Its not that I couldn't, its just that its too expensive for a meal and Bebski doesn't really like "Western-style" seafood... But luckily, my parents came for my brother's graduation and I get the opportunity to eat in Nick's Seafood, Darling Harbour with my parents, bebski and my uncle ^^

We ordered two platters to be shared among us..
The first platter is the Hot & Cold pllater for two which consists of  Golden Tempura King Prawns, Blue Swimmer Crab, Freshly Shucked Sydney Rock Oysters, Tasmanian Smoked Salmon, Fresh King Prawns, Salt and Pepper Baby Calamari, Mussels & Chips

All I can say is.... Amazing! All the seafood are fresh. I never liked salmon but I lovee the salmon here! Writing this blog makes me wanna go there again... droools~~~~
Hot & Cold platter for two $130
The second platter which is Nick's platter for two is generally has similar components to the Hot & Cold platter but this one has Fresh lobster in it! The Lobster meat again is fresh and juicy!
Nick's Seaood platter for two $160
Overall, I loveeeeeeee the seafood platter here.. Will definitely come back, hope I dont have tp wait for my parents to come to enjoy the food here..~~ The price was worthed! Service was excellent too....

Hot Wok, Maroubra

It shopping night today and I was too lazy to cook dinner so me, bebski and couple of my friends decided to eat out :) Been living in maroubra for almost a year now but never tried Hot Wok chinese restaurant which is just across the road ^^

An appealing menu at the front of the place :)

The foods here are all well priced and good portioned too. It's just that sometimes the service can be quite long cause they have a lot of take away orders too...

Bebski ordered the ginger and shallot fish fillet on rice. I thought it will be the usual chinese ginger and shallot dish with soy sauce dressing on top of a steam fish fillet. But it came out differently.. its still good though. It would be better if there was enough sauce on the plate :)

I got the combination laksa as the picture was really appealing :) And the picture didn't lie, it was delicious.. The laksa paste was flavoursome and there was a lot of meat inside ,, I love the combo of vermicilli and the yellow noodle in a laksa :)

Another favorite of bebski.. Fujian fried rice.. Basically it was stirfried veggies with chicken and cooked in oyster sauce (and other secret sauce) and made to a thicken soupy consitency and pour on top of rice.. yummy ^^

This dish was omellete full of onions and spring onions with crabsticks inside.. This was my least favorite as I dont eat spring onions ;P

Another recommended dish.. The special Shantung Chicken :) Full of meat.. Unlike other cheap chinese eats where they present you a mountain of chicken meat on top and a huge chunk of bones at the bottom, this dish is actually full of meat even at the bottom of the plate ^^ And I love the crispy seaweed bokchoy on top of the chicken :)

Like any other salt and pepper pork ribs.. It tasted similar to the rest.. Its just more coating that the actual meat ;P

My favorite.... Green Beanss!! From all veggies that they have in chinese restaurant, I'll always go with green beans :) This time the beans was cooked in belacan sauce which is a shrimp paste sauce ^^ I like how the chinese restaurant deep fried the beans so its still crunchy when u bite them but it doesnt have that raw taste :P

It was a good place to have a take away or even dine in, but you just have to be a bit patient :) The staff was really friendly though ^^ Highly Recommended! I tried the scezhuan chilli chicken too which was great! but forgot to take pics ;P

I was looking through Groupon website when I saw the voucher for all-you-can-eat dumpling with one bowl of noodle shared between two. Without thinking twice I just press bought!
So we went out on Thursday night to have a bit of shopping and eating ^^

My other passion besides korean foods ~~ it's dumplings indeed :)
They served us with some starter/chinese banchan probably?hehe.. There were boiled potato sprinkled with spring onions, steamed pumpkin, braised beef brisket which is very tender and melt in the mouth yummy and rich of five spice herb! The last starter is kinda like a sweet sticky rice cake :)

The dumplings offered are pretty standard; chicken and mushroom, pork and chives, vegetables dumplings, pork and cabbage dumplings.

The first free noodle bowl we ordered was the Mince noodle. The soup is rich and thick. I quite like this dish.. it will be perfect with chopped chilli! but unfortunately they only have vinegar and soy sauce on site. Its even hard to ask for chilli as the waitress doesn't really speak English T.T

The second bowl is spare ribs noodle. The soup is lighter than the mince one and lacks flavour in my opinion. It's pretty bland ;P

Overall dining experience here, well because it was so cheap, I can't really complain.. I quite like the dumplings even though they tasted like regular dumplings. The noodle too, they are quite alright.. I guess if ever I come back here, it must be bexause of another voucher :P

What do you think reader? ^^
