La Floraison, Regent Place

Recently opened pretty and bright dessert place in the lower ground of Regent Place in Sydney City. When you enter the place, it's like u're entering a magical garden full of flowers and pretty little stuff decorating the ceilings and the surrounding dining area.

I went here with my Uni friends on our last day of the semester and I kept on getting this post in my insta feed about 3D coffee printing and very keen to do one of my pic! Unfortunately when I got there, they said something was with the machine and they can't do new customize photo, so I get to pick some pre-uploaded photos in their system. Which I don't mind at all, getting both cute Stitch and Pikachu on mine :)

To be honest, this place is just looks good. And it's the end of it. The coffee takes forever to make, which is okay if the taste is worthed, but, for me it really tasted powdery like they've used powdered ones.

On top of that, there is nothing special about the dessert. Well the Taro Crepes is good, I can give them that. The rest, the Red Velvet cake is alright, the Macaron barely got any flavors besides sugar, the Agar tasted like water and the worst is the Unicorn Cupcake. Yes do are damn cute and pretty but it is literally vanilla sponge decorated cupcake and it cost $17 (comnbo with any hot drink), seriously? $11 for a cupcake? That's too much I think >.<

Will I come back? Sorry to say but probably not #isayitlikeitis

Grain Bakery, Zetland

I came to notice this Organic bakery on my way to 5th earl in Rosebery. Grain Bakery baked their breads daily on site and you can literally smell the goodness coming out from that place. I always came here to get their croissant cause for me the best croissant is when its flaky and buttery on the outside and chewy and layered perfectly inside. And I'm so glad to announce that I've met my perfect croissant here in Sydney after going through heaps of bakery and cafe in search for the best croissant similar to Agathe in Melbourne.

So last Wednesday, the hubby and I decided to grab a quick breakfast here. I tried their Reubens on Rye. I fell in love with this simple sandwich! The fresh rye sourdough is so perfect covering those thick and generously portioned corned beef, oozing cheese with sauerkraut and pickles! Best combo everrrr :)

Below are the pic of my FAVE croissant in Sydney!!!

Worth a visit guys! A good bakery/cafe just need a perfect bread and they are settled!

Smoking Gun bagel, Woolloomooloo

My photo didn't do any justice for this very scrumptious bagels~! Couldn't believe Sydney has this hidden gem in Woolloomooloo!!

I highly recommend this place for a great variety of bagels.. and I'd say come early cause they run out pretty quickly especially the popular ones!

Personally, I don't have any fave cause I loveeee all of them!!

Social Brew Cafe, Pyrmont

Visited Social Brew with Mr.P on a Sunday morning.. The place was packed with people and we had to queue, thankfully not for too long cause the dining area are pretty spacious.

As everyone ordered, we also are very keen to try the smoked salmon & Avocado with micro mesclun lettuce, buttermilk dressing and zaatar on grilled flat bread. Chewy bread is the winning point for me :) Its sooo delish!!

$18.5 with poached egg
We also tried the Ricotta hotcakes, maple marinated strawberries and pistachio crumble. Well, what can I say.. Simplicity is bliss!

I saw this Hibiscus beetroot pink drink up on Insta and coincidentally it is located just a walking distance from Social brew. So made a short stop and try it out.. Interesting flavours combo and the drink itself is not too sweet but have a nice creamy feel to it :)

Celsius Coffee Co, Kirribilli

Celsius Coffee Co is on the "must visit" list currently in Sydney! Located just at the Kirribilli Wharf, reachable by ferry or just simply drive there.. The cafe offered amazing foods and also view! Too bad I didn't take pic of the interior of the cafe.. But if you ask for window seating, you'll see the beautiful sea next to you :)

Went here on a Sunday with the Hubby.. We waited for the window seat for a good 20mins.

As usual, I got my Chai latte.. Don't feel like coffee that time. But the hubby got his flat white :) Celsius Coffee Co is using O N A Coffee bean

I ordered the Burrata & Mushroom since I loveeeee anything with mushroom, especially if the portion of the mushroom is this muchhhhhhh .^^. I'm a happy girl ;P

On the plate, we got Shiitake, Oyster and White mushroom with local Burrata cheese and chimichurri sauce on SD! Perfect combo and crisp SD! Yummmsss

$19
The dish for the hubby, which I ordered too ;P is "The Benedict" - braised lamb, Japanese yuzu hollandaise, raw almond dukkah and poached egg on SD. That lamb was so tender and well seasoned. What a new way to eat a benedict.. hihi.

$19.50

The last and pretty one is the Celsius waffle with berries, maple syrup, toasted nuts and Peanut butter. At the first bite, I thought that there's nothing special with the waffle. Even though it was pretty chewy in the middle and crisp on the edge, it needs a bit more flav to me.. But then when I take that bit of peanut butter on it, I get it ;P Omg, who would've thought waffle and peanut butter would work .. well definitely not me haha! lovin it, couldn't stop eating em afterwards even though I'm very full already .^^."

$19
Overall, it was a great experience and new found of this place! I would recommend this place to be a definitely must visit when you're around the city. The staffs were friendly and service is on point!

Circa Espresso, Paramatta

Visited Circa recently with Mr.P since I always wanted to try the place out. My friend work there and it's a good time to visit her too ;p

I would recommend if you want to visit the place, come on weekdays on super early on the weekends. I had to wait 30mins for a table but I tell ya, the foods were super crazily delicious for me and Mr.P :)

So I started my morning with Iced Mocha. their coffee got more acidity then the other I've tried. It's not offensive for me but may be quite strong for some people :)

Their special menu is the Ottoman Egg, but unfortunately I'm kinda allergic to eggplant so unlucky for me, I couldn't taste it. But I noticed almost every table got that dish. Sorry P haha!

So instead we went to the Pork belly option with Sweet and Sour pineapple dressing, slaw and crushed nuts. Plus we add eggs on the dish!

Oh em Ji, the Pork belly was really tender and juicy, crisp skin and the tangy salad provides the crunch and freshness to the meat! Definitely a match made in heaven (exaggeration aside). You should definitely try this out!!

$17
And thanks for my friend who work there, Ms.D, she recommended the French Toast, which at first, not on our order list! Probably the best french toast I've had so far. Much better than Flowerchild!

With brulee banana, fresh berries, mascarpone, cinnamon, caramelised passionfruit and crushed pistachio on Brickfields Brioche.

Super duper fluffy Brioche, perfectly caramelised and the other component complement the toast very well. Especially those passionfruit caramel sauce. Definitely something different than the rest.

$18
I understand how this place can be so packed even before they close their kitchen according to my friend who work there. They have simple ingredients in each dish but they do it perfectly! Ooh I'm still dreaming of that french toast! Droooollls!

Dutch Smuggler, Broadway

One thing that I can say from this cafe is amazing service! The staffs are very friendly and very accommodating to our needs :) It's newly opened and so when I visited with my sis and Mr.D, there wasn't much patrons dining

First, we ordered the Sticky Brisket Burger with black bun, carrot, daikon, ginger.

$14.5
Next is the Smuggler's Lunch -not my fave tho --

$16
Granola - fruits and coconut yoghurt. I think it's a great dish to start you day! I just wish they gave more coconut yoghurt to balance with the amount of muesli.

Waffle - espresso mascarpone, banana, caramel and strawberry

Must I say, this is the best waffle I've eaten so far! Crisp edge and fluffy middle. it's hard to describe how good it is! U just have to come and try them urself!

$14
Highly recommended cafe. Will come back soon for more dishes!

Aslan Coffee Roaster, St Peters

One fine Sunday, the Hubby & I craved for Indonesian Coffee and so we went to Aslan Coffee Roaster. They used beans from Indonesia and to me they got a strong burnt, dark, roasted note to it which I love and I thought made a perfect cappuccino :)
The place itself is not too big but U can tell how good the coffee is by the aroma of it once u passed by this place.

These dishes that I ordered below are the first top three in their menu list ;P
First is the Peppercorn Smoked Salmon - pan fried perkedel (Indonesian style potato croquette), chipotle aioli, poached eggs & dukkah. I personally like how the salmon and the perkedel goes well together and that sauce is a perfect one for the combo. Unfortunately the egg was a bit overcooked so I can't get that eggporn photo ;P

S18

Second one is for the hubby, Maple Glazed Bacon - chipotle scrambled eggs, cherry tomatoes, avocado, water cress, dukkah & hummus on sourdough. The hubby lovesssss the caramellic notes on the bacon, me on the other hand lovess the multigrain sourdough with the avo and egg!

$17
Coconut Crusted Pandan Chiffon with fresh strawberries, crumbled walnut, orange coffee curd, mini citrus & espresso pearls. Fluffy light pandan chiffon is amazingg! Especially with the orange coffee curds! The let down for me in the crumble. It tasted a bit like oxidized nuts kept too long in a jar. But apart from that, its a great dish.

$15
I would definitely be back and recommend to everyone to check this place out! Taste yourself how aromatic Indonesian Coffee can be. They are quite strong, some people may not like it, but I love them hihi.. ^^

Kafeine, Balmain

My third visit to Kafeine in Balmain :) This time is for my Birthday Brunch. Mr.P wanted to treat me for lunch here :) Arrived on a Sunday ard 11am and the place was already packed with people. Thankfully the last table at the edge is empty ;P It's like meant to be since Mr.P and I will be taking pictures of the foods for quite a bit of time and we don't like many eyes starring at us hihi..

We were greeted nicely as usual and the Owner was there too.. Apparently we are from the same country and we kinda follow each other on Insta .. He came by to the table to say Hi and also offer the Salmon salad for breakfast (even though its only avail for lunch), how nice :)

So the must always order is their Salmon bene with homemade hollandaise sauce and potato rosti at the bottom! Always love that combo instead of muffins or sourdough ~~

$17.90
The Crispy Tasmanian Salmon Paradiso comprise of brown rice salad, currants, pickled ginger, cherry tomatoes and asparagus. Not to mention the 65 Degree Z'atar egg. Its just pure healthiness and deliciousness in a plate!

$19.90
We were torn between choosing the french toast or the pancake. But once we read 'Coconut Pancake', we made our decision then! The pancake was so fluffyyyy and soft , the fresh berries and the vanilla ice cream complemented the pancakes really well. Mr.P loveees this dishhh!

$15.90
We also ordered the Acai Bowl since we also were on an proactive mission to find the best Acai Bowl around Sydney. Even though the winner is still Culture Bean, but we will still be on the lookout :)
$17.90

Overall foods as always never disappoints, service is tentative, I'm saying this not because I know the owner but that's my honest experience and opinion :) I will definitely be back for their pulled pork hash!^^

When we walked out to the counter to pay, the owner said that it's been fixed :) The meal was on the house since it was my Birthday. I couldn't be thankful enough and It literally made my day .^^. Such a kind and generous person.

Another Melbourne weekend Escape :)

I'm in LOVE with Melbourne!! The foods, the places, the people, except the weather ;P
I went for a weekend escape with the Hubby months ago, he said its an early bday gift for me, he would be willing to go to alll the brunch places that I picked hihihi...

We went by Bus, yes that was sooo tiring, its just that that time was the cheapest option we have just for a weekend getaway. Once we arrived Melb, without further ado, we took Uber and went to my fave Suburbs, Fitzroy! Home of the many yummy foods and cozy cafes.

First stop is to Sir Charles for their Salmon benedict and also Colourful Waffles that everyone have on their table!

Salmon Benedict - Sriracha Hollaise, Panko Crumbed egg, Smoked Salmon Rillette, Baby Spinach Spinach and Burnt chilli on Roti. Very highly recommended~~! Couldnt describe it with words, just amazingly delish
$19
Eton Mess waffle - Belgian waffle, Cripsy Meringue, berries, Jelly Tip Ice cream and marshmallow. Picture perfect? yes. Taste wise, a bit disappointed ;P To be honest, I'm not a fan of waffle with meringue, all the elements are pretty dry even though they topped it with a scoop of ice cream. Probably custard or honey would help with the overall texture :)

$17
Ordered the Cronuts too which was a bit dry and i thought it would be full of flavs since their is mango coconut and passionfruit in the description. But another let down for me :(

By this time, we were a bit full and decided to check out Lune Croissant. The queue was ridiculous and the rain started to pour! So we forget about it and went to Breakfast thieves. The hubby ordered a hot chocky and I tried their new dessert on the menu.
Babe in Black Forest - Brioche French Toast served with 53.5% Dark Chocolate soil, Mandarin Curd, Vanilla mascarpone, Maraschino Cherry & Candied Bacon.
IMO it was good but not great. Love the bacon anda gain the french toast was too dry for me, need a but something like honey or maple syrup :P

$20
Almost straight after this, we went to Mile End Bagel. It was an unplanned visit. We were too full to have lunch at Rice Paper Scissor so we decided to walk around in Fitzroy to digest the foods. But apparently, we were stopped by the crowds in this place that sells varieties of bagels! And so we dropped by and give it a try.

We ordered the Double Bacon, Cream Cheese and maple syrup drizzle on a Poppy Seed Bagel. It was delicious especially when served warm and fresh! It is a definitely must visit in Fitzroy and hence the queue~!
$14
My second visit to Rice Paper Scissor and this time I get to bring the Hubby to try the awesomeness of the foods here! We got the Pork Belly, Lamb ribs, Bossam and Wagyu Beef. Nomz!!
$30/pp
We end our eating journey in Fitzroy and back to the City to get some rest before more foods adventures ;P
Dinner time comes fast and we went to this Hutong Dumpling Place in Chinatown as recommended by our Uber Driver which apparently is a foodie too! And I did see alot of post from Hutong Dumpling when I was doing my research to Melbie hihihi..

Had the Xiao Long bao, The spicy Dumpling and Pan Fried Dumpling. The place was packed with people but luckily, a table for two is not a problem anywhere! Dumpling were fresh and fillings were generous. It was delish! :)

Second day, went to QV market as usual to have some snacks and coffee. Planned to eat at Auction Room but again the queue was out of my head! so yea, just got their coffee. It was pretty good!

Finally, went to Baba Sus in Glen Iris.
Ordered the Green Tea Latte which is very milky and has a good Matcha flavs!

And also my fave combo of all timeee -- Watermelon and Coconut Shakes! Refreshing and soo much goodness in it!

$7
The cafe is famous for their HongKong Egg Waffle - Vanilla Custard, Berry Compote, Green Tea Ice cream and Pistachio Praline. Fluffy middle and crispy edges, i love it! The berry compote do much better than usual redbean greentea combo for me. Generous custard too! Overall, Impressive :)

Japanese Cabbage and Corn Fritter, Its like Okonomiyaki Fritter hihi :) It was lovely, very generously portioned but I recommend sharing this dish since it was hugee! Adding bacon and Poached egg to Okonomiyaki is a great idea~!!

$17
From Baba Sus, we drove all the way to Lux Bite in South Yarra. Got their Matcha Opera and Kuma Dessert. Love the greentea but not so much on the Kuma. The banana flavour was strong in it but another strong flav - caramel. Its kinda contrasting each other out! :(

Since I didn't get to try Lune, Mr.P recommended Agathe's Croissant, so we rushed to South Melbourne Market to get some. Luckily, they still have heaps of the Original Croissant which what I was looking forrr ~~ I wasn't expecting the croisasnt to be so flakyy and still so very good even after they are almost close! Went to melb again not long after that, tried Lune but prefer Agathe much betterrr!! and no queue -- ^^

We went to Ma brown for dinner, but I didnt took photo since as usual we only ordered the quail and that time I had a bad service experience there that I did made a complain to their Insta >.>

So for dessert, visited Milk Cow! They got heaps of toppings on a creamy vanilla ice cream :) I thought it was good but a bit pricey for the taste.

That ends my second day and on the last day, the usual rituals everytime I visited Melb. I gotta visit Manchester Press for their Bagels and Coffee! Got the MP Club Sandwich and the Pulled pork :) I still think reuben rachel is the best hihihi :)

That concludes my weekend escape to Melb! I got another post of My recent Melb trip which hopefully will be up soon :)
