Circa Espresso, Paramatta

Visited Circa recently with Mr.P since I always wanted to try the place out. My friend work there and it's a good time to visit her too ;p

I would recommend if you want to visit the place, come on weekdays on super early on the weekends. I had to wait 30mins for a table but I tell ya, the foods were super crazily delicious for me and Mr.P :)

So I started my morning with Iced Mocha. their coffee got more acidity then the other I've tried. It's not offensive for me but may be quite strong for some people :)

Their special menu is the Ottoman Egg, but unfortunately I'm kinda allergic to eggplant so unlucky for me, I couldn't taste it. But I noticed almost every table got that dish. Sorry P haha!

So instead we went to the Pork belly option with Sweet and Sour pineapple dressing, slaw and crushed nuts. Plus we add eggs on the dish!

Oh em Ji, the Pork belly was really tender and juicy, crisp skin and the tangy salad provides the crunch and freshness to the meat! Definitely a match made in heaven (exaggeration aside). You should definitely try this out!!

$17
And thanks for my friend who work there, Ms.D, she recommended the French Toast, which at first, not on our order list! Probably the best french toast I've had so far. Much better than Flowerchild!

With brulee banana, fresh berries, mascarpone, cinnamon, caramelised passionfruit and crushed pistachio on Brickfields Brioche.

Super duper fluffy Brioche, perfectly caramelised and the other component complement the toast very well. Especially those passionfruit caramel sauce. Definitely something different than the rest.

$18
I understand how this place can be so packed even before they close their kitchen according to my friend who work there. They have simple ingredients in each dish but they do it perfectly! Ooh I'm still dreaming of that french toast! Droooollls!

Cuckoo Callay, Newtown

My second visit to Cuckoo Callay to try out their new menu ! :)
I loveeee Croissant and looking at my Instagram feed with this amazing Croissant filled with all the goodness lure me directly back to Newtown.

Went with a couple of foodies and here are what we chow down ^^
First is definitely the Bacon MacDaddy - I was expecting the croissant to be flaky and crisp but apparently probably because of the filling it wasn't as i expected. But the combination of elements work perfectly well. Bacon Mac n cheese, Bacon Jam, Double smoked bacon, and poached egg, whats not to like!!

$16
The Sideways shuffle - Its either you like it or not. It's a Blue Swimmer Crab cakes with corn and avocado salsa, watermelon, Poached egg, The other foodies loved it except me ;P

$24
We also got the RESPECT Burger. Unfortunately my photo doesn't do this delish burger any justice haha! Popcorn Chicken burger with Double smoked Bacon, Gruyere cheese and sauerkraut on Brioche ~~

$19
My fave dish of the day! Even though it didn't look as pretty as the other dishes and even though im not a fan of truffle. but this dish caught my hearttttt :)
No wonder it is called 'Magic Mushroom', its instantaneously made me happyy hihihi..
Wild mushrooms on Sourdough, truffled goat cream, spinach, roasted russ tomatoes, smoked almonds and a crumbed egg. Noms!

$23
A very simple yet scrumptious dessert to end the meal. Nothing can go wrong with Triple Chocolate gooey brownies with A dollop of cream and Vanilla ice cream with crumbed nuts and biscuit. I'd give this dish 11/10!! lovee love love.

$11
One of the picture-worthy dish Cuckoo is their Lost Cookie of Pompeii - Chocolate lava cookie, peanut butter mascarpone, banana, chocolate covered popping candy and creme anglaise. I was expecting alot from the dessert, but the lava cookie was quite a hassle to eat and i think the peanut butter mascarpone is too sweet to my liking ~~

$17
Overall I am impressed yet again by the foods here, no wonder the queue are out of this worldddd ;P As long as it worth it rightt tee hee.

Harajuku Gyoza, Potts Point

I got invited by Mr.R to Harajuku Gyoza and tasted some of their delectable Dumplings and the Instafamous Raindrop cake!

We were greeted once we enter the premises and we were almost immediately since we came just after they are open on a Saturday. My foodie troops & I were starving and so without any further ado we ordered their recommended Pork Kimchi Gyoza! It was spicy but super tasty!

We also tried the Chicken Katsu Curry where the curry is pretty mild, not too strong and the Katsu still has that crispness on top of the rice. Very well portioned for the price :)

Chicken Karage is the one thing not to be missed every time I visited a new Japanese eateries :) The chicken is coated with umami flavour that wanting you to eat them more and moreee!

We also got the Pork Belly Kakuni.. I was expecting a crispy pork belly, but the pork has been braised and simmered in a soy based sauce. I don't mind it though since the meat are so tender and juicy!

One thing that you should try here ~! Frozen beer Slushie Top and Frozen Cider Slushie Top... Aren't they cuttteee! If you like a more sweeter one, get the Cider :)

For Dessert, we got Nutella banana Gyoza with Ice Cream

It may not look pretty or classy but the taste isss Oh My Goodness so goooodd~~~ Especially when it's still warm, complemented by the sweet Vanilla ice cream. Just perfect :)

And Last but Not least the RainDrop Cake! It may look simple like Agar, but it actually pretty tricky to make... Once you put it in your mouth, it vanishes just like water. Interesting dessert :) They alos have the Green tea one but I don't really bother to take a photo of it cause this is the original one tee hee ^^

They legit-ly serves delicious gyoza!! Come and try em yourself :)

Cafe Morso, Pyrmont

Pokemon Go! Everyone is on it nowadays, including meee!! So my friends and I decided to talk a walk from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour to Catch'em all Right ;P
We made a stop at Cafe Morso since the sister has been blabbing about how good the foods are and Im curious too..

The place is situated far from the crowd and offers a harbour view dining. It was packed on Sunday morning and but we still managed to get a table.

Beware though, they changed the menu for lunch so I recommend to come in for breakfast to try out their Risotto~
Smoked Pork, Spinach, Gruyere Risotto, Poached egg and Hollandaise sauce. I am usualyl not a fan of Risotto but this one was OMG so gooodd! The rice was cooked perfectly not too mushy, the pork has that good balance of smokiness and the oozing egg yolk is just perfecttt mamamiaaaaaa ;P

PS: please dont share this one. You gotta eat em all by yourselffffff

$19
Another example of simple breakfast done right! Sauteed wild Mushroom with Truffled scrambled eggs, Crusty Sonoma Bread. Fluffly egg and fragrant mushrooms can made my dayy ever

$18
Foods are on point to what my sister has been braggin about, it just a let down a bit on the service. It was kinda hard to get the waitress attention and the place wasn't that busy as well when we were in the middle of dine in.

Left of Field, Rhodes

A newly open cafe in Rhodes area. The cafe itself is located quite hidden from the main road since there are alot of construction happening around the area. Well at least it was the condition when I visited the place couple months ago.

The foods here are pretty good and the place looks great! I suggest to seat outside for better lighting for the photos hehe! The owner came up to our table and introduced the concept of the foods and said that they will be changing some menus in the next couple of months to keep it exciting~!

My foodie troops and I were excited to taste their instafamous Earl Grey custard Pancake!
But first, we ordered the Coconut and Chia Bircher with Seasonal Fruits and berries. The good old classic breakfast dish. Healthy and Delicious at the same time. I probably would add more honey to it ;P

$15
Next is the long awaited Hotcakes with Earl Grey Custard, Berries, Caramelised Banana and Caramelised Popcorn. Great idea of adding the popcorn into it but apparently that time we didn't get enough of the Custard which we asked for more since the hotcakes are a bit dry if eaten just like that. U know what? they took customer feedback seriously and the next week my friend went there, they now serve the custard on a separate jug and they are being generous with it!

$20
Another dish that must be ordered if you visited the place is their Fried Duck egg, Asparagus, Garlic, Wild Mushrooms, Pecorino adn Truffle oil. It may look simple but the taste proves so much more!!

$18
Besides the Hotcakes that is Instafamous, another stand out dish from this cafe is the Pork Burger (Pig Cheek schnitzel, Kimchi slaw, Fried egg and mayo) with Crispy Pig Ear chips!

$22
Apart from those three dishes up there, we also ordered the Shoe String fries with Pecorino and truffle oil plus their comeback sauce which literally makes u want for more! and also the Pork Belly with sweet potato puree and snowpea which is gone the minute they arrived at the table ;P

They seriously served amazing food here, even though the price may be a tad pricey than the usual cafes, but if you are like me, travelling all the way to Rhodes, might as well right ;P
Can't wait for any new dishes to come ~~~

Barista & Cook, Waterloo

Three weeks in a row I've visited this place to try out most of their menu! They have a different variety for breakfast and lunch. Went here the first time with the Hubby and we tried the Breakfast menu which blown the hubby away. He wasn't the type to do brunch or any breakfast but he specially told me that he would go to Barista for breakfast any day of the week!

The cafe is located in Waterloo where Hurricane Express used to be. The place has a very good lighting and very spacious. There could be wait during peak hours but the wait won't be too long considering the space :)

The first dish that we tried is the Charred Grilled Pork belly with Chilli egg, Crushed Edamame and Puffed Black Rice. I must tell ya, this dish right here is a no jokingly delicioussssss thing to eat to start your day! The pork was tremendously flavoursome and tender! The egg got a chilli kick to it and the edamame + the puffed rice add a nice texture to the overall dish! I highly recommend this oneeee :)

Char grilled Pork belly $19
The only dish that is available both in the breakfast and lunch menu is the Mac n Cheese Toastie served with house made Relish. Who would've thought to put mac n cheese in the middle of a crunchy thick toastie! It's damn delish ~~ I recommend sharing though cause eating the whole lot can be too much :)
Grilled Mac n Cheese Toastie $12.50
Lastly, got the Buckwheat Waffle with butterscotch pears, toasted poppy seeds, raspberries and creme fraiche ice cream. The waffles were crisp and it tasted pretty good for buckwheat waffle. Does not blow me away but worth a try :)
Buckwheat waffle $16
On the second visit, we tried the Corn Fritter with Avocado, Black bean salsa, Poached egg and a side of soft tortilla. We thought that the fritters were pretty good with the avocado and the salsa. We did leave the tortilla in the end cause the whole thing was just too heavy for breakkie....

$19.50
Now this one right here is another must get dish! no wonder it made the top on the menu. Smoked Trout Kedgeree - Spiced rice, Boiled egg, Citrus Yoghurt, Coriander.  Yum! That's all I can say!! The yummy food without any guilt! hihii ^^

$19.50
My other fave dish here is their Coconut Chia Pudding with Tapioca Pearl, Vanilla Peaches and Passionfruit. What a great COMBO! The flavours works perfectly well and that small jar is too precious to be shared! Legit.

Now aside from the breakkie menu, we did tried the Lunch menu once.
Their lunch menu is pretty simple, apart from the burgers and rolls, they offer a DIY plate. So basically you choose the protein and also the side of salads.

This one right here is their Southern Fried Chicken with Grilled Zucchini Salad

$19.50
And the other one that we ordered is the Crispy Pork belly Szechuan pepper with sweet potato salad.

$20.50
The verdict... My foodie troops and I preferred the Breakfast menu than the lunch. But we probably need to try the burgers/roll. We thought that the portion is pretty small considering the lunch menu and the price offered. The salad needs more dressing, the pork belly was great but the chicken tasted a bit bland ;P

Don't get me wrong, I still love Barista & Cook, I think they are a really great subs for Hurricane occupying the space and their Breakkie menu's a Champ ^^

Kansas City Shuffle, The rocks

If you ever crave for a really good waffle in Sydney, I would highly recommend visiting Kansas City Shuffle! I went here with my sis and Mr.R for a quick breakkie before hitting the next cafe since I got my dayoff on Thursday..

The two must order dishes there are the KCS style Beef Brisket with Waffle, Smoked Chilli Butter and poached Eggs and The Hotcakes!

KCS Brisket waffle below is amazingly smoked to perfection which you can taste in every bite of the beef and the tenderness of the meat is not even a question. The waffle was crispy on the edge and so fluffy in the inside, not to forget the smoked chilli butter has some spicy kick to it.

KCS Brisket Waffle $20

Another dish that we tried was the KCS Cuban Sandwich with Berkshire Pork belly, Ham, Cheese, Pickles and Mustard. It was alright I guess, nothing special in it, I was kinda hoping more filling in between those sourdough ;P

KCS Cuban Sandwich $17
Another must order dish is the Pancake with lemon curd, blueberries, cream cheese parfait & smoked almonds. The batter to the pancake wasn't too heavy and they're still gooey in the middle. Not sure whether it's how they want to serve it or they undercooked them? Anyhow we loveeeee it and the cream cheese parfait is just a perfect addition to the pancake!!

Pancake $17.50
KCS is pretty hidden in the alley around the Rocks area. I would recommend coming in for breakfast before the queue starts. But they have two dining area which will reduce the waiting times in peak hours :) A tip for me would be not to share the brisket waffle cause they're too goooooood ;P
