Tella Ball Dessert, Dulwich Hill

Tella Balls has opened their very own Dessert BAr in Dulwich Hill! For all Nutella fans, this is the place to go!! I visited Tella balls with the sis and some foodie friends to taste some of their desserts :)

The place is very spacious and they offer a lot of variety of the dessert made of Nutella and all the chocolate goodness!

My favourite would be this Nutella soft serve on Donuts Cone! Best idea and Best combo for dessert like everrrr ~~!! :)

They also have this Donuts flavoured ice cream on a stick and coated with Chocolated and decorated with sprinkles. I can't really taste the donuts flav in the soft serve but overall it was a good one for after meal :)

Got this Dessert too which I forgot the name, Nutella or toblerone something. Pretty good :)

We didn't try the waffles or anything else since we were pretty full from previous visit to Bread Circus which I will post up soon :)

Short Post on a Brunch Date to Newtown

Last Saturday, went on a brunch date with my mate, Mr.P. Why newtown? cause at first we would like to try the Bacon Ramen in Cuckoo Callay which unfortunately run out as they will be having a new menu soon. Disappointed by the news, we decided to walk all the way to Brewtown Newtown to revisited the place :)

Thankfully the queue was not as crazy as when I went before, maybe cause we arrived there quite early.. Looking at the menu as we were seated, I was torn between having the pork hash or the muesli.. But I ended up choosing the pork hash cause it's been too long since I have fresh peas!! And Mr.P got the fancy gazpacho thingy ;p

Chilli Fennel Pork Shoulder Hash, cabbagem Peas, Poached Eggs, Parmesan and Cumin Crumbs

Almond and Pistachio gazpacho, Heirloom carrots, Cumin Roast Cauliflower, Kale, poached Egg on Toast.

The verdict of the two.... As usual I love what I ordered.. It's been awhile now since I ate a very tender juicy pork shoulder with fresh peas and the cumin crumb are just a perfect addition to the dish. I didn't get a lot of the hash n my plate, which I', not complaining cause the generous amount of shredded pork satisfied me enough! Tried Mr.P's fancy gazpacho, it was alright for me, my favourite would be the cauliflower! The gazpacho can be too much at some point that Mr.P didn't end up finishing them~

After our "light" breakfast in BWtown, we visited Bake Kobo - Japanese bakery for their cutey breads! Im so sad that I didn't get to buy the Bear shaped bread cause they sold out apparently >.< But Luckily, I still go the Yummy soft sweet Turtle shaped bread, the Green tea tart and the Fish Roe Bread..

After getting the bread, we sat down in Hakiki Turkish ice cream just next to the bakery. It's like the perfect place to sit and chat around with the comfy outdoor setting, while slurping on the ice and munching on the breads ^^

I got the Baklava ice cream flavor which according to the guy is the best seller. I tried a couple of flavors before, I think I prefer the Turkish Delight and the Melon Feta, which i'll surely be back for :)

Rivareno, Darlinghurst (Mini Post)

After our meal in Danjee, we decided to try out this new Gelato place in Darlinghurst. We walked from George st up to Crown st to digest all the foods we had eaten..
The place is generally new and it has a couple of sofas in the middle of the space and also a line of table bar near the window.

The queue was quite long and it may take some time for you to be serve because they are still trying to introduce a lot of flavours to customers and some of their gelato offerings are hard to predict on the taste like for example the 'Morena' or 'Contessa', so we struggle a bit in reading the description at the bottom of the name while tasting some samples too ;p

I ended up ordering 2 scoops of the Amarenata Croccante - Whole Amareno Cherries, crushed amaretti and hazelnut crumb & Ricotta E fichi - Sheep's milk Ricotta with caramelised figs
I don't like the Amarenatha, it tasted like the cherry cough syrup mom used to give me when I was a kid T.T But the Ricotta E fichi was divine! Smooth gelato, not too sweet and yet the flavour delivers!

Mr.P got the New york New york - Organic Canadian maple syrup and pecan. Another yummy combo of flavours in a scoop. Highly recommended!

A short trip to Rivareno, but I'll definitely be back with Bebski to try out other flavours! :)

French Riviera Ice Cream, Double Bay - Mini Post

After a movie night on Friday, Bebski, Mr.P and I thought that the night was still too early to head back home, so we went to French Riviera for some ice cream! It was my first time there. The place was quite small and there was only an old Frenchman which is the owner of the place.

He welcomed us with smile and lead us through the menu as we were a first timer there. We decided to get the Tahitienne which is a combination of 4 scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, rum/chocolate sauce and banana pieces.

There were no one else except us there, I somehow feels sorry for the guy, I think his business wasn't as good as before when Messina or Gelatissimo weren't around yet ;p We ended up getting 8 scoops in our bowl Thanks to his generosity! We enjoy the ice cream bowl while listening to his story from the first time he opened up the first huge French Riviera in Double Bay and the one in the City.

Scoops that we tried includes Salted Caramel, Banana, Passionfruit sorbet, Ginger & Lemon Sorbet (My favourite!), Cinnamon, Coconut, Chocolate, and Hazelnut.

It used to be a popular place for ice cream, even among Indonesians, my friends used to go to the one in the city and got the Rainbow Surprise, a tower of ice cream scoops with all the goodies. I hope people do still remember to visit this place once in awhile :) He made his own ice cream, and the owner is a lovely guy! :)

Kokoroya, Maroubra

After dinner in Yummy Pepper House somehow all of us were craving for ice cream for dessert and Ms.C suggested to go to Kokoroya cause they serve the best green tea ice cream!
And so we went, the 5 of us to Kokoroya.

I have been to Kokoroya once for their famous Chicken Namban bento but I visited the one in Waterloo. For Japanese foods I think that the price is quite expensive. That's why I never visited Kokoroya even it is a walking distance from my home :p

So we got almost everything in their dessert menu except the Creme brulee. First to come is the Green Tea ice Cream. I have to agree to Ms.C that Japanese made the best Green Tea Ice cream! It was smooth and creamy and yet have strong green tea note to it. It comes in 3 medium-sized scoops with fresh strawberries and a slice of navel orange topped with mushy red beans

Green Tea Ice cream
I also ordered the Black Sesame Ice Cream but not my favourite. Apparently I like a mild kind of black sesame whereas this one has a true strong black sesame profile ...

Ms.C and her Hubby ordered the mixed ice cream which consist of an additional vanilla and chocolate scoops.

And to share, we got the Tiramisu which was served with fresh straqberries as well. The Tiramisu is light, creamy and in the middle there was a layer of sponge soaked in coffee. It was soo goooddd ~~

Our dessert party :)

We enjoyed our dessert and the hospitality of the waitress in Kokoroya. Might worth a try if you're a Japanese food fans :)

Stix Dessert, Surry Hills

Last Saturday I was trialing as a sandwich hand in South Dowling Sandwich and it didn't go well. Can't explain in details here but it was a semi-terrying-but-interesting experienced that I got. So I thought what better than ice cream to flush the sorrow away,,,

So I went to this Stix Dessert place in Surry hills with Bebski. I have seen a couple of food bloggers posting photos of the gelato sticks which is new to me as usual gelato is serve in cups or cones. Their concept is similar to the pop-up Magnum store in Pitt st mall.

How to Order:
1. Choose your Gelato flavour sticks
2. Choose your Dip (Milk, White and dark Chocolate, also coffee?)
3. Topped with topping of your choice from Oreo, Crushed Nuts, Milo, Colourful Sprinkles and others

The shop itself is pretty plain in decoration being new. But I do have a feeling that they're gonna be the talk of the town soon enough with a variety of Gelato flavours offered. It also change daily! So you'll always be surprised of what's in store.

The shop being small, only provides seating area for a max of 10 people maybe. But that doesn't stop people from coming and going getting this treats!

I got the Grapefruit sorbet with Milk chocolate dip and colourful sprinkle and milo. Yup, It's not a good combo for a sorbet :( I wish they have more dips and toppings to suit fruity sorbet soon ^^

While Bebski got the panna cotta with white chocolate dip and chocolate sprinkles which is a perfect combos! The gelato is smooth and not too sweet, allowing the chocolate drizzle to topped the sweetness :)

There were only 2 people working at that time and I honestly pity them as the place gets really busy when I left and I saw her having a hard time coping with orders ;p
I will definitely be back to try their other gelato flavours and I hope they add more toppings!^^

La Mamma del Gelato ANITA, Chippendale

La Mamma del Gelato which means Mom's Ice cream. What a catchy phrase to lure you into this hidden store behind the new Living Mall called Central park in Chippendale. My sister told me about this place before and I decided to try it out as my friend also recommend me to try the Cookie Man ice cream.

The place is bright, covered with glass on all sides and the waitress are friendly. Greeting us with smile and asking us if we would like try any flavour and so I did try quite a bit before making the decision. They have a lot of flavour variants that are really tempting with their attractive colours.

Apart from ice cream, they also serve frozen yoghurt, and must I say that toppings are UNLIMITED! I hope its forever not just for a few months! Unfortunately we were quite full from the feast in Papprich to even try much here :(

Finally I got the Jumbo size ice cream which let me choose 3 flavours of giant scoops of ice cream. I did get the Cookie Man which has soft crumbed biscuits inside, The Mascarpone Strawberry (My favourite) and the Black forest which has a nice hint of liquor ^^ I think that the price for their ice creams are really affordable. $8 for 3 Jumbo Scoops is worthed! The ice cream being smooth, creamy and not too sweet is a positive points for me!

Not the most appealing picture! Sadly, the waitress didn't ask me if I would like the ice creams in cup or cone :( Would definitely have the cone next time!

Mr.P got the Sugar Free Hazelnut ice cream. Nice nutty note with profound hazelnut flavour and still has the ice cream sweetness for me.

There were a lot of Indonesians when I visited this place. Well, I think typically we loves our food and most of the time we gather with our friends, we would always talk about eating and foods :)

Definitely worth a trip and a try! Will definitely come back. I think Anita is my second best go-to ice cream spot after Andersen's!
