Sydney Food Truck jam, Entertainment Quarter

It may be too late to post this up, but just for the sake of enriching my blog.. I would post it up :) The first ever Food Truck Jam in Sydney where all of Sydney Food Trucks gathered in one spot! It was held in Entertainment Quarter Moore Park for 2 days period (3 - 4 October). Some of my friends went on Saturday and it was crazy! They queue for 1.5hrs to get the food!

So I planned my trip to EQ on Sunday very well. I gathered up my Foodie team and I assign them to one truck for foods haha.. We reached EQ at 11:45am, the entrance was not open yet but the queue was soooo longgg! Thankfully we found a second entrance and we don't have to queue that long :)

12noon sharp, the door open and everyone went to their designated food truck ;p I went to Yang's Food truck!

I got their Banana Leaf Rice ~ The Fried Chicken ~ Fried Mantau Chilli Soft Shell Crab . They are amazing! I heard about Yang's many times but haven't try them til that day  ;) The chicken was ordinary but the soft shell crab are hand downn their best dish!

I also went to Cantina Mobil to get their Chipotle Beef Nachos, very generous mince beef for the price we paid.. Would love to try their burritos next time :)

We also got the Bao from Tsuru Food Truck. Mr.P got the Pork and Chicken Bao. The Spicy Pork is seriously gooooddd! Soft Bao buns and tasty sauce smothering the tender pork....

This pretty Coconut Dessert from Kayter n Co is the first thing that caught my attention when I was searching up the food truck jam food photos from Instagram. They are fancy! Even though they can be overpriced, $12 for a coconut but its worth it for a hot day like that Sunday!

The Jerusalem St food Knafeh is the hit in the Food Truck Jam! They have the coolest stall, with coolest people and coolest song played !! The people at Knafeh are very friendly and energetic :)

They sell this Creme Brulee like dessert which to me has a strong milky flavor to it, its not very sweet, its creamy and smooth and I must tell ya, its ssooo addictive! Usually, I would treat dessert with "one spoon" only policy! But this bad boys right here, I even got seconds. That's how good they were hahaha :)

Apart from those foods above, we also got the Tella Shake and Pulled Pork Monster Roll, but we were too Hungryyyy that I forgot to take pictures for the others hihihih..

My Foodie team below! My minions for the dayy muahahaha ;P
Anyway, it was another great day with an awesome company .^^.
Looking forward to more Food Truck Jam Event in the Future!

Ko & Co Soju Bar, Surryhills

When Korean and Mexican decided to collaborate their food, this place happened! Ko & Co is a newly opened fusion restaurant in Surry Hills area towards the city area where the place is quite hidden and a small shop which is perfect for private function in my opinion!

I went on a Saturday with Bebski and Mr.P. There were only 2 tables occupied that time probably because it was still early for dinner. We were greeted by 2 men behind the bar which is a Korean and a Mexican :)
I really wanted to try their cocktails and Fruit Soju but unfortunately I need to drive home so maybe next time.

The place itself consist of a few bar tables and 3-4 short tables, a pretty simple decor and an appealing paintings that caught my attention.

I've checked the menu a couple of times and so I am pretty much set on what to order. This mixed corn chips is served as complimentary snack from the restaurant :) It's a nice thing to nibble while waiting for the foods to arrive

In Ko & Co, the Mexican foods comes in the Burritos, Tacos and Quesadilla, while the Korean side comes in their fillings. They have 3 types of filling; Korean marinated beef (Bulgogi), Spicy Pork belly and Korean Fried Chicken.

The foods are very well priced with ~$10 on average each meal. So we decided to taste a bit of everything they got :)
First is the burrito which comes in a wrap. For the burritos, we chose bulgogi filling. It was alright but wasn't great. I wish the rice has more flavour and the filling to be more generous..

Beef Burritos $10
The Sliders, however, was really delicious! I particularly love the spicy pork belly filling. It's juicy and marinated really well. The buns is soft and shiny, looks so appetizing! The crunchy cabbage salad complements everything perfectly.
Sliders (Comes in 2 pieces) $10
The dish of the night is the Korean Fried Chicken! It does not taste like the usual KFC that you got from Korean restaurant. It is more to Chicken karage side of the taste. The chicken is deep fried to crispy golden perfection with the meat still juicy and tender. Yes, if u guess, they used thigh meat instead of breast the provides extra juiciness to the chicken :) It is served with house kimchi mayo that is sooo creamy!
I highly recommend this and very good value for money.

KFC $14
The tacos, we ordered beef ad spicy pork belly same as the sliders. I'm not a fan of their tacos. It is quite dark in their so I can't really distinct what is the filling in it but I can taste brown rice in their and definitely the crunchy texture from the cabbage salad underneath :)

Spicy Pork Belly taco $6

Beef taco $6
Kimchi and cheese Quesadilla. Sounds weird to me as well at first but surprisingly, they go really well with each other. One advise from me, Eat it while its still hot before the wrap goes hard and the cheese goes chewy :)

Kimchi & Cheese Quesadilla $10

That is the end of our feast in Ko & Co. I could recommend this place to everyone for their good food and atmosphere. My other advise is to go with more people so you can taste a bit of everything.
My next visit, I will definitely try their cocktails and fruit soju!!

The Dip @GoodGod, Sydney

Every time I passed through Liverpool st, I always wonder what kind of pub is it called GoodGod and what is inside. So I did my homework by looking at other food blogs and food reviewer. And so I found out that there is a small bar/pub inside which over Mexican foods. So I gather once again my foodie friends to experience this place together :)

When we arrived, the security greet us kindly asking for our ID and he kinda spoke indonesian a bit, hehe. We have to go down the stairs and the place was quite dark. It was 6PM but most of the tables are occupied. The waitress asked us if we have made a booking.. In my mind I thought people really need to book to eat down here? This small place? What is really special about this place?

So then we looked at the menu and we order 1 dish for ourselves and will order some sides to share.. So these are what we got...

The very yummy nachos. Corn chips with 12hr cooked pork, pinto beans, tomato salsa, jalapeno cream and cheese
Well as the place was quite dark and my camera definitely was not the best one, so it doesn't look really appealing but trust me it is yummy!

Pulled pork Nachos $15
The menu Red Hot Chicken Wing really tempted me to buy them. I was imagining the type of spicy chicken wings that Adam Richman from Man Vs Food had! But it was pretty disappointing in taste for me. The flavour does not come through. It was not spicy :( The ranch dip is really good though..
Red Hot chicken wing $10
We are the people who can't eat asian food without rice and who can't eat anything not Asian without chips. Sorry if my sentence confused you :P The chipotle mayo was amazing... creammyy goodness!!
Thick fries with chipotle mayo $6
Lev's Dawg is the first dish offered in the menu. It must be either the best or the favourite for being on top. It consisted of a smoky kosher hotdog with green yellow pepper, fresh tomato salsa and chipotle mayo and american mustard :) It's not like your original hotdog. All of the combination works perfectly!
Lev's Dawg $12
The winner menu for tonight.... *Drum rooollllls*.... Southern smoke!! Its the 12hr cooked pulled pork with BBQ beans, apple & cabbage slaw, and BBQ sauce. The pork literally melts in your mouth, the homemade BBQ sauce is divine and the slaw provides the crunchiness needed! Yuuuuuummmmmmmmmm
Southern Smoke $12
There's always room for dessert they said... second stomach they said ^^ *Omg too much 9gag*
We got this dessert called Ice Cold Guac which is a sweet avocado ice cream with strawberry salsa and waffle chips. The ice cream is not sweet for me.. But its good as the strawberry provides some sweet and sour note to the dish which made it balance :)

Ice Cold Guac $10
Now I can answer myself doubt before. No wonder people need to book to dine here. It was affordable, good portioned, nice atmosphere to hang around. They have live music and dancing floor too :) The food are amazing and the staff are friendly, Highly recommended and definitely will be back ^^
