Kansas City Shuffle, The rocks

If you ever crave for a really good waffle in Sydney, I would highly recommend visiting Kansas City Shuffle! I went here with my sis and Mr.R for a quick breakkie before hitting the next cafe since I got my dayoff on Thursday..

The two must order dishes there are the KCS style Beef Brisket with Waffle, Smoked Chilli Butter and poached Eggs and The Hotcakes!

KCS Brisket waffle below is amazingly smoked to perfection which you can taste in every bite of the beef and the tenderness of the meat is not even a question. The waffle was crispy on the edge and so fluffy in the inside, not to forget the smoked chilli butter has some spicy kick to it.

KCS Brisket Waffle $20

Another dish that we tried was the KCS Cuban Sandwich with Berkshire Pork belly, Ham, Cheese, Pickles and Mustard. It was alright I guess, nothing special in it, I was kinda hoping more filling in between those sourdough ;P

KCS Cuban Sandwich $17
Another must order dish is the Pancake with lemon curd, blueberries, cream cheese parfait & smoked almonds. The batter to the pancake wasn't too heavy and they're still gooey in the middle. Not sure whether it's how they want to serve it or they undercooked them? Anyhow we loveeeee it and the cream cheese parfait is just a perfect addition to the pancake!!

Pancake $17.50
KCS is pretty hidden in the alley around the Rocks area. I would recommend coming in for breakfast before the queue starts. But they have two dining area which will reduce the waiting times in peak hours :) A tip for me would be not to share the brisket waffle cause they're too goooooood ;P

INDU Dining, Sydney CBD

INDU, a South Indian inspired restaurant opens up in Sydney recently and their food has been a hyped among foodies lately. This was a late post, I'visited the place months ago with 5 other foodies and we enjoyed everything that we ordered~!

First, we ordered from the DOSA BAR, Smoked Goat's leg, Zucchini Ribbon Raita, pomegranate, Chilli and Bacon jam. There is nothing not to love from this dish! the Goat's leg was just soo tasty and we did eat it the right way, by ripping the dosa and using our hands~ "_ So much funnn

$18
Second starter that we picked was the Sesame rolled beetroot croquettes of hung yoghurt, green chilli, Ginger & Garlic raita. It came in 4 pieces and this little croquette sure does deliver a big flavour! A must order dish in INDU

$16
For accompaniment, we ordered from THE VILLAGE section and got the Beetroot & Apple Raita, Walnut, and fresh Mint.
Raita $6
Now, the real game begins! when this badboys reached the table, the aromatic fragrance of this dish has caught my heart almost straight away! Slow Braised Devilled Beef cheek with Kachumber salad. After the first bite, U'll know why the word "devilled" is there! It's fiery hot! peppery and chilli spicy. I reallyyy lovee it! this dish can literally make me sweat and it's just awesome!

$24
One of their famous dish is The Great Lamb Raan. Marinated and slow roasted over 48 hours with yoghurt and spice, fresh mint and chutney. They got an option for half/full serve and of course we go for the full.  When this dish arrive, we were asking for a knife to cut them through, the waitress told us that we wouldn't need such thing as the meat is so tender and she was right! Oh my gOood. The tenderness of the meat is no joke and the flavour is just rich and meaty. Another great meat dish here :)

Full serve $80
Now this pretty looking dish is their 5-spice Crusted Barramundi, string hoppers, tumeric and coconut molee. I'm not so impressed with the flavour, may be just because I'm not a great fan of fish in the first place. Or may be after that rich flavours of the meat dishes covers the subtle flavour of the barramundi to my palate. I didn't say its doesn't taste good, it's just not to my preferences :)
$34
Now here come the dessert, we ordered everything they have on the menu ;P..

First, we had the Caramelised Pineapple, cardamom dulce le leche, chilli & ginger granita, yoghurt jelly.

Gulab Jamun rolled in Coconut Sand, Saffron Anglaise, kashimiri honeycomb Shards

$16
Watermelon and Mint Popsicle

$6
White Chocolate & Coconut Cream, Caramelised pomegranate & Fig

$14
Verdict of the dessert, hmm hard to say, my fave would be the last two on my post above. Some of the foodies said they weren't to impress with the desserts. So my money would definitely be on the savoury dishes!

Great atmosphere of the place, it can be too dark for Photography but luckily, the restaurant manager was generous enough that they've placed us in their "special spot" in the restaurant with big tables and very good lighting :) Service was great too and I will definitely be back for the pork belly curry!

Pub Life Kitchen, Ultimo

Pub Life Kitchen finaaaally... After being drooled by heaps of post from this place, I finally visited the place on Saturday night. The place is pretty hidden itself, it is located inside Lord Wolseley Hotel and the area are pretty dark and quite at night. We entered and we saw a busy small pub and restaurant delivering mouth watering burger to every table.

Apparently because the space was limited, we ordered inside the restaurant and then seated outside otherwise we have to wait for the table for quite a while.

Open kitchen on the right side of the entrance where we can observed how this delish burger was made!

Not long after we ordered, came the first dish, the Hot and Sticky Chicken Wings. The sauce is definitely sticky but not hot. I think they're using honey for the sauce and forgot the chilli? hehe. It was good but not great.

Hot and Sticky Chicken Wing $10
The other snack that we ordered was the Mac 'n' Cheese!! Cheesy and creamy goodnesss.. the Mac n Cheese is terribly goooodddd~~

Mac n Cheese $12

The guys ordered the O.G - 200g House Ground Beef Patty, Jack Cheese, Caramelised Onion, Tomato, Iceberg, Roast Garlic n Lime Aioli. I took a bit of Bebski's burger and I know why this burger has been on my IG's news feed quite alot! The patty was juicy and the sauce was uhmazing.. What I love too is the french fried! Most burger serves thick cut chips but I love how they serve the thin ones. The thing that made me sad is I can't do double patty T.T They said extra is only for bacon even though in the website we can add patty. groar.

The O.G $17 (price with chips included)
The girls got the TLC - Fried Buttermilk Chicken, Double Jack Cheese, Pickles, Green Sriracha Mayo. I think TLC is better than the OG, well that's just preference though. They used chicken thigh which is juicier and yet fattier as well, that what made it soo damn good! The sriraha mayo is just perfectly complemented the burger and the oozing cheese are just amazeballs! I don't even wanna know how much calories is in there, I pretty much finished the whole lot!

We end up walking from Ultimo to Hyde park to go home, so a bit of walking to maybe possibly burn a bit if that calories? o.O
TLC $17
Highly recommended! Friendly service and little space so make sure u come early or outside the peak hours. But it definitely worth eating even when the freezing night wind blowing through our faces that night hahah!

Milliore Korean Fusion Restaurant, Capitol Square

It's been awhile since I visited this place lonnggg time ago.. Bebski suggested for us to have dinner here one Saturday night cause he told me how good the Ox Tongue was when he went there for lunch. Apparently, they have slightly different menu between lunch and dinner :)

So there were 4 of us dining and on a Saturday night, the place wasn't too busy ... Usually Milliore wasn't my go to Korean but I thought its been a long time so might as well have it ago again..

The banchan came and we immediately consumed them as we were too starving that night! I love the potatoes as usual, but the fish cake wasn't the best Ive had.

For starter, I ordered the Potato Pancake. The first time that I knw about the existence of this yummy dish is from a Korean Reality Show 'Family Outing' with Lee Hyori making the mouth drooling potato pancake!

I've made this many times at home, just want to try it directly in the restaurant and it's sooo goodddd, even though it can be more greasy than when it is made it at home :)

We didn't go for the Hotpot, I wonder why, we ordered Spicy Tofu soup instead. Like most of spicy tofu soup in other Korean restaurant, it has a generous filling and the tofu was soo smooth and silky!

Other dish that we ordered is the Spicy pork belly and Squid Stirfry, This dish seems appealing but apparently it tasted quite bland :( I was expecting it'll be placed on a sizzling hotpot like the one I had in Dae Jang Gum... But yeah. so unfortunate ... Should've ordered bossam instead >.<

The only thing that made me agree to come back to milliore!! The Galbi Jim. The short rib beef bone soup, it was amazingg. hands down the best I've tried so far in Sydney! The meat fell off the bone and still juicy and the soup are just flavoursomeeeee :) I would definitely come here just to have this with steamed rice :)

Even though it wasn't the best Korean eating place, I would definitely come back for the ox tongue, I also wanted to try the Japchae, bossam and other dishes as well. They offered more variety of Korean dishes than other place. So maybe that night I just ordered the wrong stuff ;)

Five Points Burger, North Sydney

There are a lot of post on Burgers recently in my Instagram Feed and it seriously got me drooling over a good one. I've done my research and Five Points Burger became my choice to fulfil my cravings. Why five points? Apparently Mr.P works 2 mins away from the place and I gotta a day off work on a weekday, so yea.

I arrived at the place 11:30AM, it wasn't as crowded as he described it to me. So I waited for his lunch break while reading my Business Law textbook in a park nearby.
The clock hits noon and I met Mr.P just in front of the place and I got so surprised seeing the crowd lining for their lunch.

How it works here is you order and pay at the counter and then wait for your name to be called and then you get your seat ;p

I looked at the menu, they don't have much choice which is good. I was thinking of getting the chicken instead cause I know Mr.P will definitely get the beef. But! The star Burger is the Beef so I thought I'm not getting the "usual" after a long way from home.

Mr.P said the burger is not too big and so I decided to order one for myself and I got another one for Bebski cause I know he lovessss beef burger!

They call it The BRONX - Grilled beef Patty, Double Cheese, Onion jam, Pickles, Tomato Sauce, American Mustard, Bacon and Iceberg Lettuce.

The Bronx $12.5
Super Tender and Juicy patty complimented by gthe crispy bacon and cheesy goodness plus the crisp lettuce and the fluffy buns, Its just a perfection in one nite! I did not regret my decision for getting one just for myself. haha! I really really love the buns hereeee and I love how they provide Sri Racha sauce for the chips!

O yeaaa I got the Beer Battered chips as well for $4. Wanted to try the coleslaw as well but they didn't have it that time.

For Bebski, of course, one patty isn't enough and so I double the trouble with another beef patty for an extra $3. It looks humongous and really really mouthwatering. I really recommend to try this place out. Even though the queue can be crazy especially during lunch rush, but do come before 12 and ordered the bronx!

In my next visit with bebski, I would definitely buy triple meats and cheese and bacon! hahaha ;p

It's so good!

Porteno, Surry Hills

Yahooo... I finally got to visit Porteno on my Bdayyy this year.. :) Thanks for arranging siblings <3 We had an amazing feast there and yep, now I have experienced myself the meaty goodness of the 8 hours cooked pork and lamb!

Arrived there at 6PM sharp cause they have a seating policy of 6 - 8:30 PM and then 8:30 PM onwards. I've passed through Cleveland st many times but never realized the location of Porteno. The place is quite dark from the outside, its almost invisible ;p

After choosing our red wine, we immediately ordered the foods cause I have been eyeing of what to order since last year! So to start with, we had the Pan De Casa - Home made bread with Olive oil, Chicken liver & Ham pate. The crusty bread with fluffy inside is a good one to start the meal. I don't usually eat Pate but I don't mind it this time..

Pan De Casa - $3 per person
The Beef Empanadas is the second starter that I chose. We just bought one cause it is pretty exxy for a single serve and we just really curious on the taste and besides we ordered a lot of other foods anyway.. The fillings are mince beef, some veggies and boiled egg. It taste almost similar to the one we have back in Indo.

Empanadas De Carne $7
Next is Porteno Chorizo - Pork Sausage with white wine, Garlic and Spanish Paprika. Big fan of Chorizo and this one I tell ya is sooooo delishh! It came in 5 huge chunks, meaty and oily ;) Full of flavour and I can really taste the garlic :)

Chorizo Porteno $15
Now.. the mains that we've been waiting forr!! The fancy name is Chanchito A La Cruz - 8 Hours Woodfire Pig. I cannot describe it any further besides juicy tender meat and crispyyyy salty crackling!! There's a bit of sour note in the ribs area, not sure what's that but it's still so tasty!

Chanchito A La Cruz $50
Entrana - Kobe Cuisine Wagyu Beef Outside Skirt grilled over Charcoal...  It is a perfect match to the leafy earthy chimichurri sauce provided there. I'm not a fan of this one cause there's a fat layer covering the meat ;p But bebski on the other hand looked for the fat layer instead ;p

Entrana - $44
One of my favourite of the night, after the slow cooked lamb ;p Bife Ancho - Range Valley Sirloin 350gm girlled over Charcoal. It melts, literally melts in the mouth, that salty meaty savoury meat is just perfect and tender and juicyyyyy ^^.. not sure whether this is the wagyu or the sirloin instead. But this one below here is a mustttt order!!

Bife Ancho $44
The star of the night and most of us agreed. Cordero A La Cruz - 8 Hours Woodfired Lamb! Same as the pork, tender and juicy meat but not sure what makes this dish more special than the pork ;P The crackling is not as tasty as pork but the meat itself is justttt yummooo ~~

Cordero A La Cruz $50
And for the sidess.. we order the Famous Repollitos De Brusela A K A the Crispy Fried Brussel Sprout with Lentils and Mint. Charred crispy Brussel sprouts, it did not taste like we're eating veggies at all ;P One bowl is not enough, literally!! It's so goodd..

Crispy Brussel Sprout $16
The second side that we got was Polenta Agridulce - White Polenta with Sweet & Sour Radicchio. The polenta is sooo creamy but a bit gritty.

Polenta Agridulce $16
Now after all the meatssssss and fatsss.. we move on to the desserts. There are four dessert on the menu and we're getting 3 of them.

First is the Rice pudding with caramelised poached pear. It is not as sweet and the rice pudding got a mushy creamy texture. I think I'm the only one who actually liked it ;p

Rice Pudding $16
Bread/Custard pudding is the next one A warm custardy puddings serve with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Nothing special on this one, it tasted like creme brulee with ice cream :)

Bread Butter Pudding $15
They call it Chocolate "Bahibe" - Chocolate Brownie with passionfruit and Pear Sorbet. Everyone were reluctant when I decided to order this one. They said it's just plain brownies and I can even bake them at home. But! It proved them wrong haha. The brownie was moist and oozing gooey chocolate came out from the middle, with gelatinised chocolate mousse (I guess) and the crunch chocolate crisp provided a complementary texture to the dessert. The passionfruit is not too profound but the pear sorbet however is delicious! I think the quenelle was too small ;P The dessert of the night for us!

Chocolate "Bahibe" $16
Nothing can makes me happier than yummy foods and good company. Lamb, Beef Sirloin, Sprouts and Brownies were the highlight of the night for me. I posted some pictures up on Fb and even my mom was drooling over it and asked me to bring her there next month when she's in town. I will gladly accompanied her here!

Thanks Porteno, My bday Dinner was a blast! :)
