ChirChir, Burwood

You should check the area where Chirchir is located. Burwood is a definite new foodie destination soon! Chirchir is located quite away from the junction but in this area, there are an array of new developing asian restaurant that has been swarming with people and worth to check out!

Back to Chirchir, the one thing that everyone got their instagram story is this cheesy lava on fried chicken!

The spicy chicken is not spicy, it's pretty sweet and not suiting for my palate. but some of my friend actually liked it.

For me, the Garlic chicken in the best hands down! Even better than the one with cheese :)

The unfortunate thing is may be it's still pretty new, but service can be quite slow and the portion is pretty small compare to other Korean fried chicken place anywhere else..

Thirsty Bird, Potts Point

On my visit to Harajuku Gyoza, I came by to see this place called Thirsty Bird, was so curious as to why the queue was that long even though they are just open. So I went with my usual Foodie troops after a meal at Indigo (post coming up soon ;P )

Got their Totter Tots with Gravy and Bacon bits. It was dayummm delisshhh! Not oily, crisp bacon and umami gravy ~~ Couldn't ask for a better tots ..

Got the Spicy Wings too, but for me honestly is not my favourite :) I like it to be crispier and more flavour in it...

But this.... For me is the all time winner for Southern Fried Chicken Burger! Perfectly crumbed and seasoned Southern Chicken, the slaw are fresh plus the Bun are oh-my-goodness fluffy and softtttt ~~ I'm drooling while writing this post, literallyy!!

We also got the 4pcs Chicken with the Aioli and pickles. Chicken was tender and the sauce is a perfect match for the chicken ... It's probably one of my fave Southern Fried Chicken in Sydney :)

Highly Recommend the Chicken Burger. Would lovee to come back for more chicken and to try outt other Burger! Nomzzzz

Chicky Char Char, Alexandria

Chicky char char newly open in Alexandria.. Maybe not that new but it got my attention since I passed by McEvoy st that often.. Apparently the Hubby knows the Owner's Son ;P

Went for a quick lunch with the Hubby on a Sunday, the place was pretty quiet, there were alot of people having takeaways.

I got their quarter Grilled chicken with a side of salad and chips. They offer varieties of salad that you can choose from the display.

I also ordered the Spicy Wings which I thought wasn't that good.
They got a special burger for the time being called Zomato Mega Burger. Its so huge and very delish at the same time! Inside are Beef patty, Fried Chicken, Fried egg, Pickles, bacon, relish and Mustard :)

I would recommend their Burgers and Grilled Chicken but not the wings ;P

MiNi Post of this and that :)

John Montagu, Wolloomooloo

Yay... Finally get to try the 12 hours beef cheek Sandwich with cheddar, horseradish, onions and rocket.
The sandwich to me is good but not that great and it's pretty costly for a sandwich hihi ~~
$17

Good Time Ice Cream

A stroll to Good time Ice Cream right after the sandwich ^^ Got the 'Grown Man Crying' on the right which is more on the creamy note and also the 'Ziggy Stardust' for those who like a tangy berry flavs :)

Hot Belle Chicken, Barangaroo

Heard mix reviews from friends about this chicken spot, but I think they serve a pretty good wings! Their spiciness level is a no joke! the Really F*ckin Hot wings can definitely sweat you out -- Been there twice and would love to go for moree my Spicy Chicken Cravings :)

Skip the queue from the one in Cquay for this amazeballs burger! Now Bar Luca has opened up a small Burger Bar in Darlinghurst, just next to Mr.Crackles for any Late night burger cravings!!

The place wasn't that big but decent enough for a quick bite :)
Introduced the Blame Canada burger to a couple friends and they fell in love with it on the first bitee~

Apart from the burgers, I also ordered the Chips and a side of their scrumptious Fried Chicken! Very well portioned for the price of a sides.
Can't wait to be back again! so far, for me the best burger in Sydney is Blame Canada at BL Burgers ^^

Roastville, Marrickville

An unplanned visit to Roastville. I was in the area with the Hubby and decided to give it a go since a friend recommended this place to me :) He said their coffee and benedict was good.

So went on a Saturday, the place was pretty hidden behind a high wall and the sign wasn't really clear ;P The interior was really exciting with all wooden chair and tables and they got a back area full of coffee sack, more like a warehouse kinda feel.

First, I ordered the Apple and mint smoothie which is really refreshing :)

Then we tried the mighty Fried Chicken and Kimchi Waffle with kewpie mayho, Sriracha sauce and Parmesan. The portion was huge and I think some people that loves kimchi will like it but some people like my Hubby wasn't a fan. I find it okay, the sriracha and the mayo somehow turn out to be a bit sweet to my palate. The waffle was good though!

$18
The second dish that we got is the Dirty Bird Benedict with Harissa Hollandaise and Sage biscuit. A unique combo I should say and again the dish was generously portioned :) I guess, I prefer the benedict more than the waffle :)
$17.90
Overall, it was a good cafe. I might come back to try their other menu cause both dishes that I ordered were pretty much similar - fried chicken ;P

Melbourne Culinary 2.1

Second Day in Melbie.. started with breakfast in Industry Beans which is located in Fitzroy. An interesting area with heaps of cool Graffiti covering almost all the walls here.. !

Personally loves the design place itself! we were hoping to get the outdoor seating as the lighting is better but it was too full even at 9:30am! So we got ourselves a table near the entrance..

The dish here are veryy prettyyyy but I think taste wise is just okay.. Its just personal preference though and maybe I ordered the wrong dish..

Coffee Garden below comprise of Coffee Custard Pudding, Coffee caviar, cold drip gel, chocolate soil pistachio sponge and tulle. My mom and sis loves this one. The coffee caviar is the one that impressed me and yeah maybe cause im not a fan of coffee, I don't really like it.

$14
Love the Steel Cut Oats! Lavender Mango, Coconut yoghurt, crumble and freeze dried fruit. A simpler dish that works well with the combinations I think.. :)

$16
Green Papaya and Peanut Crusted Egg with Blue Swimmer Crab (optional)! Love this one, as usual my fave papaya salad done right with just the right tanginess of the nahm jim sauce and the crusted egg are just yummm. What I dont like is the blue swimmer crab in the salad, which we ordered because mom loves them hihi...

$25
Overall, I think the foods are very well priced, the Asian inspired menu is inviting, I might come back to try our their other dishes! The Shanklish Omelette even though sounds ordinary is actually an interesting one as it went through to the table next to us! :)

After a hearty breakkie, we went to Victoria market and as usual got the Donut and this time we actually have some nibbles along the way.. We had a late lunch in Chin Chin, thinking it won't be busy after lunch hour which was around 2PM. We still had to wait for quite a bit.

The place can accommodate a lot of crowd with 2 levels dining area. The basement has the bar-dim-light atmosphere (bottom photo below) and the upper area is more to a casual dining.

Even though we were full from the snacking in QV market, the taste of the foods here in Chin Chin still impressed us to the max! We got an option to do A la carte or an option to let them choose a number of their popular dishes so we can try a bit of everything. We choose the a la carte.

Went with the Butter Chicken Curry - Caramelised Sticky Pork with Chilli Vinegar - Crispy Baramundi & Green apple salad with cripsy pork - Grain Fed Wagyu sirloin with Jungle curry Paste. I take back my words that there's no good thai restaurant in Melb!

I remembered someone told me Chin chin is exxy and the foods are so so. From there onwards, I never ever will take anyone's words regarding food taste cause in general, taste is just personal and diff people will have diff likings :) The foods here are awesome. My family loves them and is proven by the never ending queue ;P The flavours in each of every dish are different from other Thai place. A good different though. I think you should at least try out Chin Chin if u ever visited Melb.

From that late lunch, we were toooo very fuull! Went back to the apartment for a bit then I asked my sis whether we're doin Huxtaburger that day. She said yes and so we go! A short stop to huxta before our dinner appointment with a family friend. Huxta have 3 different locations if I'm not wrong.. I went to the one in Collin St (CBD). The place is hidden in an alley.. NOt a surprise, it's melb afterall. everything are hidden in a laneway..

We got the THEO which is Huxtaburger with double patty, double cheese and Bacon! The only reason why we visited this place is because one of our friends claimed that the burger is better than Bar Luca's. First bite of the burger, literaaalllyyy brought me to Maccas's Beef burger taste >.< What we do love is the BUN!! It's awesomeeee.. fluffy and crispy. Just right for what a burger bun should be according to me and sis.
$14
Another stop before our main dinner in Chinatown is Crazy Wings. I know we got crazy wings too in Sydney but trust me the level of chilli for the crazy wings are wayyyy different! One small bite can literally squeeze your tears out. My dad took a bit, throw it out almost instantly and still got his mouth burnt with the spiciness!

This is only to try out your chilli tolerance and I guess just for the fun of it. Not for taste or pleasure at all hahah!

After the dinner in one of the Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, we weren't that full (wasn't good but really crowded, don't know why!) so My bro and I went to Gami Chicken as our Melb friends said it is better that Arisun's Soy chicken!

The Original fried chicken was good but the soy, seriouslyyyy cannot even be compared to Arisun. haha! I supposed Syd still got the best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) whatsoever said by Melbournian hohooh..

Overall the second in Melb I concluded that Industry beans serves great coffee, Chin Chin is a must visit, Gami chicken MEh.

Spice Alley, Kensington Street

So couple weeks ago, my friends and I visited Kensington street for the first time on a Sunday. We reached the place 2pm after church and we were starving! Luckily, the place wasn't as crowded as I imagined it would be.

This place is located just next to Central Park and they got so many entrance to the area. We went through this small lane to reach the place and once we entered, we were amazed by the design of the dining area and how the placed the food vendors. Definitely bring me back to eating street foods in Malaysia.

Went to Spice Alley with Ms.N, her sister and not to forget Bebski. The four of us ordered each dishes from each stalls. They were so cheap and so delicious at the same time! So let me break down the list of the food vendors:
  • Alex Lee Kitchen : was planning to try their Durian Roti but they run out, so we got the Roti Telor and Roti Canai with Curry
  • Old Jim Kee: Char Kuey Teow, Hokkian Noodle, Sambal Pipi, Lohbak and Fried Chicken Wing
  • Bang Luck : Oyster Omellete fritter and Crispy Pork Belly with Chilli Jam on Rice
  • Hongkong Diner: Roast Duck with Salted egg on Rice
  • Drinks: Ice Kacang and Milk tea
Believe or not, each person spent $25 for everything. We ate our heart out and tummy are fully satisfied! :)
Spice Alley is a great place to chill and they sell a variety of foods to choose from.

Had Froyo from Anita for dessert. I know.. i know. After all that feast, i still got room for this :P
