Bar Luca, Sydney CBD

Bar Luca is o ne of the best Burger place that I've visited here in Sydney. Located in Philip st near Circular Quay, it's no surprised that this place is always packed with diners during peak hour lunch time as blogger/students/part timer like me has to compete with the executives that work in that area ;P

The good thing is they are open for bookings! So rest assured if you are organised, you will definitely secure yourself a table.

Bar Luca offers different specials everyday from Monday to Friday and unfortunately they close on the Weekend T.T I went there on Wednesday with my fellow foodies, 9 of us to taste first hand this amazeballs burger that we saw a lot on Instagram. The specials on Wed currently is free add of Bacon or Cheese !!

I ordered a side of the Crab, Coriander and Corn Fritter with the creamy Aioli. They are good especially dipped into the sauce. I would love to taste more coriander in it thoughh ;P

Fritter $9
Tried the Pulled Pork Burger which comes with Coleslaw, Coriander, tender juicy Pulled Pork and Chipotle Aioli with side ons for Fried and Chicken wing for $6! Oops not to forget the additional cheese and maple glazed bacon, yummm ~~

Pulled Pork Burger $14
Chicken Karage Burger comes next to our table which comprise of Crispy crumbed Chicken Karage, Coriander, Wasabi Aioli, Pickled Veg and Coral Lettuce (add Bacon).
Hmmm.. you know  how when u visited a burger place that is specialised in beef burger, and you kinda don't wanna look at other varities, at Bar Luca, you better think twice cause this karage burger is at the same level of yuminessss!

Chicken Karage Burger $14
As can be seen from my epic pic below, the star of Bar Luca, the thing that occupied most of my Insta News Feed! The Blame Canada - 200g Wagyu Beef Pattie, Maple glazed Bacon, Maple Aioli and Poutine, with addition bacon and chesse and fried and chicken wings ~~~

The buns were so soft that you need to take the photo almost immediately when it arrives before it started to be less fluffy, the pattie is always serve with a pink center, and the combination of all eleements just made this burger taste heavenly delish!

Highly Highly Recommended !!

Blame Canada $15
Some shots of behind the scenes of how we foodies dine! ;P

It's so good that I'm coming back again today with different troops and so glad the special is $10 bucket wings1 yummmm ~~

Local Mbassy, Ultimo

A newly opened cafe in Ultimo area, precisely just across wenworth park. Parking is considerably easy and not so many people know about this place yet except the locals that come and go for their takeaway coffees.

Went here with hubby yesterday to try their red velvet pancake which i saw during my "homework", is one of their popular breakfast dish. Besides from the all-day breakfast menu, they also offer some kind of fine dining menu with choices of starter and mains like roast beef panzanela and Sumac poached chicken.

The ambiance is relaxing but the place can be a bit chilly especially towards the entrance. The lightning also is pretty dim towards the back of the cafe. But Hubby loves the design, it is classy with all the beams and hanging bulbs.

The interior of the cafe itself is not very big, but not to worry they have outside dining area as well. That if you can take the winter breeze ;P

Selection of muffins, schones and other sweets are displayed near the counter.

To start with, as usual, Chai Latte for me. It's quite sweet to my liking and they still gave me a sachet of sugar ;p I know just a bit about coffee and I think the barista didn't do the milk froth any justice hihi,,

A latte for Hubby..

Regular Latte $3.50
Hubby got the Full English Breakfast which consists of Poached eggs, Double smoked Bacon, Sausages, Mushrooms, Grilled tomatoes, Brown bread, Potato Rosti and a side of beans. The portion was huge that even bebski feels full at the end of his meal and he can barely eat the pancake anymore ...

Full English Breakfast $18
I ordered the Shakshuka with Baked beans, Bacon, Poached eggs in sweet paprika sauce. What can I say.. It's good but not great. The sauce was a bit sweet for a savoury person like me and they surely are very generous with portion size ;p The bacon and baked beans can fill 2 female easily ... They also offer a vegetarian option for the Shakshuka.

Baked beans with Bacon $17

The moment that I've been waiting for from the first time it arrived on our table! The Red Velvet Pancake. This is the first time I tried something like this. Pancakes are fluffy and has a very good chocolate note in it not just food colouring.. The cream is light and the berries just add a perfect touch to the dessert. It is highly recommended if ever u visited this place. And again the dish can be shared. It's enormous ;P

Red Velvet Pancake $15.50
Overall dining experience was great! The service was exceptional and the pancake is a must get! I will definitely be back to try their other dishes. I just hope they can add more variety on the all-day breakfast menu :)

Cuckoo Callay, Newtown

I have been eye-ing this place since I was still back in Jakarta and made a pact with myself that I have to be there and experienced the Bacon Festival myself! Envy looking at my friends posting all those yummy pictures while I can only sit back and drools ;p So another tick in my never-ending restaurant list! Went last Sunday with my foodie troops; Mr.Wjt, Mr.Us and Mr.P! I know I should bring all those guys for the Bacon week menus.

The location of the place itself is very convenient, it is exactly right outside Newtown station. At first, I didn't realized that was it, but looking at the queue and the catchy pink sign pointed that it is Cuckoo Callay :p

The place isn't very big, they have both outdoor and indoor seating. We were lucky to be seated outside cause the lighting was very good and the weather was perfect as well!

They do table service as well as takeaway orders. Look out for the board near the entrance door, that's where you write your name for the queue. Luckily, we don't have to wait that long before we were seated.

I ordered the Orange, Carrot and Ginger freshly squeezed juice. So good... even though I was expecting more ginger note in it ;P I'm such an oldies!

Orange, Carrot and Ginger Juice $7
As I'm ordering quite a bit of food, I decided to pick this seemingly light 'What a Croque of Bacon' which consist of Bacon, Basil and Vintage cheddar croquettes served with bourbon bacon, pea puree and two poached eggs. The portion looks tiny but it does fill me up good. I also ordered smoked salmon as a side for an extra $6. The eggs were poached perfectly and I can really taste that bourbon note in the bacon, was so damn good!

What a Croque of Bacon $19

Boys.. being boys, ordered the dish that has everything in it! 'Bacon All the Rules' - Black Forest Smokehouse Maple bacon, bourbon bacon, bacon steak, bacon sausage and bacon-crumbed poached eggs served on sourdough! It's like all bacon goodness in one plate! I did try a bit of everything and my favourite would be the bacon steak! thick cut of bacon and it was perfectly smoked and just so scrumptious!

Bacon All the Rules $24
And to end the meal, instead of the bacon waffle, I ordered the Drizzle Sticks - Crunchy Black Forest Smokehouse streaky bourbon bacon drizzled in chocolate and Hazelnut. Its so wrong its good! The bacon was served quite cold and yet crunchy. The combination of the saltiness and the sweetness just blends in really well and the hazelnut adds a texture to the bacon streak. It's just too good to share ;p
Drizzle sticks $10
Overall experienced was awesome. We were all full and happy! The Bacon festival does lift up to their hype... I would love to come back to try their other menus, maybe next time in June when I'm back in Sydney ;p It's one of those days when my friend complimented me of recommending satisfying food to try.. :)
