Cafe Morso, Pyrmont

Pokemon Go! Everyone is on it nowadays, including meee!! So my friends and I decided to talk a walk from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour to Catch'em all Right ;P

We made a stop at Cafe Morso since the sister has been blabbing about how good the foods are and Im curious too.. 

The place is situated far from the crowd and offers a harbour view dining. It was packed on Sunday morning and but we still managed to get a table.

Beware though, they changed the menu for lunch so I recommend to come in for breakfast to try out their Risotto~
Smoked Pork, Spinach, Gruyere Risotto, Poached egg and Hollandaise sauce. I am usualyl not a fan of Risotto but this one was OMG so gooodd! The rice was cooked perfectly not too mushy, the pork has that good balance of smokiness and the oozing egg yolk is just perfecttt mamamiaaaaaa ;P

PS: please dont share this one. You gotta eat em all by yourselffffff

Foods are on point to what my sister has been braggin about, it just a let down a bit on the service. It was kinda hard to get the waitress attention and the place wasn't that busy as well when we were in the middle of dine in.

Roastville, Marrickville

An unplanned visit to Roastville. I was in the area with the Hubby and decided to give it a go since a friend recommended this place to me :) He said their coffee and benedict was good.

So went on a Saturday, the place was pretty hidden behind a high wall and the sign wasn't really clear ;P The interior was really exciting with all wooden chair and tables and they got a back area full of coffee sack, more like a warehouse kinda feel.

First, I ordered the Apple and mint smoothie which is really refreshing :)

Then we tried the mighty Fried Chicken and Kimchi Waffle with kewpie mayho, Sriracha sauce and Parmesan. The portion was huge and I think some people that loves kimchi will like it but some people like my Hubby wasn't a fan. I find it okay, the sriracha and the mayo somehow turn out to be a bit sweet to my palate. The waffle was good though!

The second dish that we got is the Dirty Bird Benedict with Harissa Hollandaise and Sage biscuit. A unique combo I should say and again the dish was generously portioned :) I guess, I prefer the benedict more than the waffle :)

Overall, it was a good cafe. I might come back to try their other menu cause both dishes that I ordered were pretty much similar - fried chicken ;P

Foodcraft Espresso & bakery, Erskineville

Foodcraft Espresso is on the Hype now for their Tella Shake and their Instagram has hit 10.6k follower! So I'm very keen to try out whats the ruckus is all about.. So I went there with some of my friends last Sunday. Decided to come super early to skip the queue, Arrived at the place at 9:30AM and we gotta wait for around 30mins before we were seated.

We got the outdoor seat and luckily it was a bright sunny day last week, so we don't mind sitting out. While we wait for the foods, I went inside the place and look around the interior. They have an open kitchen at the end of the walkway and on the right is the display of their World Famous Tella ball lining up waiting to be eaten ;P

We wanted to try the Vanilla and the Salted Caramel, but they said they have run out at 10AM~~! Unbelievable how famous their shakes are. So we got the Strawberry with Jam Donuts on top and The Famous Tella Shake with Tella ball.

The verdict for the shake? Hmm.. hard to say, the donuts are dense to me and very generous in size but I think for a person to finish the whole thing is just massive and too overly sweet! The shake itself is pretty ordinary. As we eat, the queue starts to build up and I heard some people behind me was saying that they rather make the milkshake at home and just get the donuts from there. But the other was saying "at least you gotta try it once in your life" haha!

Ms.H got the Baked Egg and served with Sourdough.

The guys got the Big Breakkie - Bacon, Egg, Italian Sausage, Grilled Tomato, Haloumi, Hash Brown, Mushrooms and Soourdough. The portion is oh my god so big! Even bebski got a hard time finishing it..

I got the Eggs benedict with Tasmanian Salmon on Brioche. I add some Italian sausage too. I read some reviews saying that their food are pretty mediocre compare to other brunch places and last week, I've experienced it myself. it's the first time I didn't finished a meal in a brunch place. The eggs were poached perfectly, the salmon and hollandaise sauce are quite salty and the brioche was neither soft nor fresh.

I wanted to wait til 11AM to order their steak sandwich at first but getting such foods from their breakfast menu made me think twice to order the lunch menu ;P It may be just my opinion regarding the foods but yeah, besides trying the Tella Shake, I don't think I would be coming back there.

When we left the place, the queue has become sooo massive! They even have their own queue for paying ;P
